Moratu Vidyalaya in innings win

A fine all-rounder performance by Moratu Vidyalaya skipper and their star all-rounder Sanka Ramesh helped them to beat formidable Vidyartha College, Kandy by innings and three runs in their inter-school under-19 tournament cricket match played at Moratuwa.

Batting fist Moratu Vidyalaya piled up 310 runs with Sanka Ramesh hitting a brilliant 126 runs which included nineteen fours and two sixes and occupying the crease for 190 minutes and facing 160 balls. So far he has scored over 600 runs in eleven matches. Isuru Weerasinghe claimed 5 for 80 for the visitors.

In reply Vidyartha were all out for 149 runs with Ruwan Bandara top scoring with 75 runs and Sanka Ramesh claiming 5 for 51.

Following on visitors were all out for 159 runs with Harsha Devinda doing most of the damage with 6 for 48. So far Sanka Ramesh had taken 86 wickets in eleven matches and last year he totalled 1,067 runs and took 103 wickets.
