University nameboard vandalised

Universities are the places where highly intellectual persons are produced for the well-being of a country. Therefore its nameboard plays a vital role in judging the standard of that university. It should not appear like a nameboard of a wayside hotel.

Not only local dignitaries but also overseas VIPs visit our universities. So the nameboard itself is a criterion for them to judge the standard of the particular university.

The nameboard of Sri Jayawardanapura University is vandalised which is a crying shame because students clamour for various demands by staging strikes, demonstrations and so on, but fail to protect the name of their seat of higher learning.
