Deiyannewela M.C. Playground win Kandy Mayor's Cup Soccer Sevens

FOOTBALL: Deiyannewela M.C. Playground team emerged champions at the Kandy Mayor's Cup Seven-a-Side Football Tournament conducted by the Playground Department of the Kandy Municipal Council.

The two-day tournament was concluded last weekend at the Aruppola M.C. Playground.

There were 16 teams that participated from the M.C. Playgrounds and Community Centres.

MAYOR'S CUP: 1. Deiyannewela M.C. Playground, 2. Pahala Deiyannewela Playground team, 3. Aruppola Playground team.

UNDER-16 TOURNAMENT: 1. Bogambara M.C. Playground team, 2. Asgiriya M.C. Playground team, 3. Mahaiyawa M.c. Community Centre team.

UNDER-14 TOURNAMENT: : 1. Deiyannewela Playground team, 2. Pahala Deiyannewela Playground team, 3. Dangolla Playground team.

Municipal Commissioner Chandana Tennakoon distributed the awards.
