Med1 Pioneers 'First Aid Helpline' services via Dialog Axiata
Dialog Axiata PLC is partnering with Med1, an American managed
emergency medical response service provider operating in Sri Lanka to
offer access to emergency health advice to Dialog subscribers via 'The
First Aid Helpline.'
'The First Aid Helpline', which can be accessed by calling 1990 on
Dialog mobiles will allow Dialog subscribers to obtain first aid advice
in times of a health emergency including chest pains, sudden paralysis,
choking, breathing problems, sudden pain, allergic reactions, animal
bites, burns, head injury, electrocution, wounds and cuts.
Other injuries and conditions such as back pain, diarrhoea, fever,
stings, falls and sprains from any location islandwide.
The helpline gives customers advice over the phone on the first steps
they should take to ensure safety of the patient and reduce the
possibility of further injury, worsening illness or death. The service
puts the voice of an internationally accredited emergency medical
service specialist right next to you in the time of an emergency.
Additional first aid advice can be obtained through the helpline in
cases of assault, behavioral disturbances, domestic violence, drowning
and near drowning, motor vehicle accidents, overdose and or poisoning.
'The First Aid Helpline' is available 24 hours a day in all three
national languages Sinhala, Tamil and English.

Med1 (Pvt) Ltd. is an American managed, Sri Lankan company registered
under the BOI (Board of InŽvestment) to provide out of hospital
emergency services and training.
Med1 initiated phase 1 of the national rollout of emergency medical
services in 2011, when it launched the only internationally accredited
emergency medical training institute in Sri Lanka.
