Sino Lanka Hotel Holdings begins construction of OZO

Sino Lanka Hotel Holdings commenced construction work at OZO Colombo with the ground-breaking ceremony. Minister for Economic Development and Tourism, Basil Rajapaksa together with Sino Lanka Hotel shareholders and owners and directors of the Thailand - based hotel management company, ONYX Hospitality Group were present.

Located on the Marine Drive in Colombo 4, the 150 room OZO Colombo hotel is expected to boost the local economy through business travel and tourism as well as employment opportunities in construction and operations.

A joint venture by dynamic business personality Bob Kundanmal, a hotelier and former Managing Director of the family-owned Confifi Group of Hotel, Stefan Furkhan and its Singaporean investors, Rajan Bharvani and Manu Bhojwani, Sino Lanka Hotels will launch two other properties, in Galle and Kandy within the next three months. With a total investment of Rs 4.5 b and

with the OZO brand in Sri Lanka collectively operating over 410 rooms across three properties, the developers said they were proud to help make a positive impact on Sri Lanka's tourism industry.

Chairman Sino Lanka Hotels, Bob Kundanmal said "We are excited to begin this project and to play a key role in developing tourism in our Country. We identified a need for sophisticated and stylish world class three star accommodation in Colombo and are happy to work collaboratively with ONYX to make it happen".

"We wanted to leverage on foresight to offer first-class facilities at mid-price levels. OZO will better accommodate a range of guest's lodging needs for business and leisure and we have found the perfect locations for these properties" Furkhan said.
