Winner of People’s Bank ‘Jaya Sri’ from Thanamalvila

Senepurage Sunil from Tanamalvila the winner of the People's Bank Jaya Siri 2012 monthly draw for February 2012 – won the Micro Panda car. Sunil is a technician working for the Tanamalvila Depot of the SLTB. Sunil said, “My tenure at the SLTB spans 12 years and I have been maintaining a People’s Bank account for the past 25 years. I also transfer my salary to my account at the People’s Bank. I only get the amount of money which is sufficient for monthly expenses and leave the balance as savings. All our savings are in that account.”

‘Jaya Sri 2012’ – was launched in February by People’s Bank and customers who maintain a savings account or a current account are eligible for this competition. The competition – is carried out in two phases which includes the monthly draw and the annual draw. For the 1st prize of the monthly draw People’s Bank offers two prizes from which the winner can make a preferred choice of either a Micro Panda car or a Tafe tractor.

Forty eight second prize winners receive a 24’’ LED TV each while 1020 consolation prizes of mixer grinders are also on offer ensuring winners from every part of the island. From the annual draw customers have the opportunity to win three Honda Civic cars. To be eligible for the ‘Jaya Sri’ Monthly draw, a customer should maintain a minimum balance of Rs 10,000, whilst the annual draw requires a minimum balance of Rs 50,000 to be maintained at the time of the draw.
