BBDO celebrates first anniversary

Good governance is the key to attract foreign investments and the
success of Singapore in economic development is an ideal example,
Chairman and CEO of BBDO Asia, Middle East and Africa, Chris Thomas
said. “Today Singapore is the base for many global companies and good
governance is essential to build business confidence,” he said.
Thomas was in Colombo to celebrate the first year anniversary of BBDO
Lanka. Speaking on BBDO's success, Thomas said “BBDO worldwide has
recognised BBDO Lanka as a ‘force for good’ in Sri Lanka, given the
agency's efforts towards environment conservation. I am confident that
we will see more great work from the BBDO Lanka team in the future.”
MD BBDO Lanka, Santhosh Menon said that the agency had delivered
effective communication material for its clients as well as contributing
to the environment. “Our efforts include becoming South Asia's first
advertising agency to be certified carbon neutral and the launch of
Asia's first air-cleaning mechanical hoarding.”“The advertising industry
is a relatively small industry but its impact on people's lives and the
way they think are great. At BBDO we deliver creativity to our clients
and we believe that only creative work is successful in advertising,” he
said. “We need talent for creative work and we are trying to build a
talent pool in BBDO Sri Lanka. The advertising industry in India is more
developed due to its large film industry.
However, we see a comparative advantages in Sri Lanka such as good
locations, low cost and talent,” Menon said.
The agency supported Kumara Sangakkara's ‘Bike for Life’ initiative,
an organisation raising funds to buy bicycles for children in the
Northern region.
“Our philosophy, ‘The Work, The Work, The Work’ extends far beyond
delivering creative communication material. While continuing to achieve
results for our clients, we believe that it is important for this
philosophy to translate into all aspects of our actions and operations,”
he said. |
