Ratnapura RTS wins tea factory award

Ratnapura RTS Group won the award for the best medium level tea factory at the National Plantation Board's 2012 ceremony at Temple Trees under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa recently.

The factory has also received the Tea Board Certificate for manufacturing quality tea as a nutritious drink. Apart from being adjudged the best entrepreneur in the Asia Pacific region, the award for the best tea smallholder in the Ratnapura district was also won by RTS Group, Gonapitiya estate proprietor Lalith Liyanage.

The RTS Group has also invested in the tourism sector by setting-up tourist hotels, one of which is Lake Serenity Hotel, in an environment dotted with lakes and cascades.
