Chariot relaunched
by Nilma DOLE
The Chariot chain of restaurants and outlets have relaunched their
brand with a new logo and image. The Chariot outlets still have fresh
shorteats, sweets and English chicken pies but they have added new
flavours such as a proper Jaffna crab curry, alabonda and suravarai.
The new proprietor of the Chariot chain, Shehan Gomes told the Sunday
Observer, “We wanted to uplift the Chariot brand which is synonymous for
its humble appeal of a eatery but we were keen to bring a different
approach by bringing traditional food to the Colombo market.”
He said that it wasn't just revamping the image but inculcating a
'youthful spirit' to offer good food at competitive prices. Chariot will
also venture into the outdoor catering market which would help in
offering clients anything from a wedding catering package to a dinner
for 10 pax.
“We have a team of eight, headed by our executive chef who has two
Jaffna members too. We are hoping to draw in a mixed clientele who not
only value good food but will also ensure that they get their money's
worth,” he said.Chariot restaurants has also been invited to serve at
Orion, Empire and Trillium residencies. |
