New policy for optimum use of human resources

The Government will introduce a new Human Rights and Employment Policy to ensure the optimum use of the country's human resources for economic development, said Human Resource Development Senior Minister D.E.W. Gunasekera.

He said that the new policy statement on Human Resources and Employment was prepared on a Cabinet decision.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has sought the views of all ministers on the new policy, the Senior Minister said.

It has assumed the proportions of a great challenge for the country to exploit the human resources to develop the country.

The main theme of the new policy is that Youth should have meaningful and productive life.
