Netball team approved for Asian Championships

NETBALL: A 12-member Sri Lanka Netball Team has been approved by the Minister of Sports Mahindananda Aluthgamage for the 8th Asian Netball Championships 2012 from August 25 to 31 at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.

The team will have two captains Tharjani Sivalingam and Gaythri Lankathilake. The other members of the team will be: Sashika Samarasinghe, Thishala Algama, Semini Alwis, Gayani Dissanayaka, Chathurangi Jayasooriya, Wishaka Jayasooriya, Mareesha Fernando, Samanthi Nilukshika, Dammika Malkanthi and Deepika Abeykoon.

The manageress will be Mrs Dinali Pitigala Arachchi. The other officials are: Hyacinth Wijesinghe (National Coach), Mrs. Deepthi Alwis (Asst. Coach), Lal Ekanayake and Ms. Sue Gordian (Consultant Coach).
