'Electricity for all in EP achieved'
The Power and Energy Ministry has achieved its target of providing
electricity for all in the Eastern Province, a spokesman for the
Ministry said.
He said that Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka will
commission several rural electrification projects in the Eastern
province from today till September 4.
He will commission eight rural electrification projects on these
days, the spokesman said.
Minister Ranawaka will commission four rural electrification projects
and five extensions in Padhaviya-Sripura constructed at a cost of Rs.
40.7 million today. Over 421 families will benefit by it.
The Minister will also commission two rural electrification projects
and four extension projects constructed at a cost of Rs. 6.8 million in
Kantale and Seruwila tomorrow.
