Athulathmudali MV Cup Champions

Lalith Athulathmudali Maha Vidyalaya Mount Lavinia won the Cup Championship while Moratuwa Vidyalaya the Plate Championship at the all island schools under-16 ten-a-side division two rugby tournament organised by the Sri Lanka schools Rugby football Association and sponsored by Milo and worked off at the Jayatillake Sports Complex Nawalapitiya yesterday.

In the cup finals Lalith Athulathmudali MV beat Sri Rahula College, Katugastota by 20 points (4 tries) to 7 (1 goal) after leading 10-0 at lemons.

In the cup semi finals Sri Rahula College beat Devapathiraja Vidyalaya 15-0 and Lalith Athulathmudali MV beat Talduwa MV 20-5. Moratu Vidyalaya won the Plate Championship by defeating Welagedera MV 5-0 in the finals. At half time there was no scoring.

In the plate semi finals Welagedera MV beat Sri Chandananda Vidyalaya 14-0 and Moratu Vidyalaya beat Sarasavi Uyana MV, Peradeniya 5-0.

Piliyandala Central College lifted the Bowl Championship by getting the better of Dudly Senanayake MV 10-0 in the finals. At half time winners led 5-0.

The Shield Championship was won by Wayamba Royal College who defeated Asoka Vidyalaya 17-5 in the finals after leading 10-5 at half time.
