Lankan delegation to attend Maldives hotel exhibition
A 20-member delegation from Sri Lanka will participate in the
Maldives Hotel Asia 2012 exhibition from September 10-12 courtesy of the
Sri Lanka-Maldives Bilateral Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of
Commerce.
The delegation from the Sri Lanka-Maldives Bilateral Business Council
comprises Colonial Hardware Group, D. Samson Industries (Pvt) Ltd.,
Dasuns House Plants, Eastern and Allied Agencies Ltd., Farm's Pride
(Pvt) Ltd., Kelani Cables PLC, Malship (Ceylon) Limited, Overseas Realty
(Ceylon) PLC, Rileys (Pvt) Ltd. (Member of Hayleys PLC), Unixsigns (Pvt)
Limited and The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
This mission will facilitate the setting up and further expansion of
business contacts.
The Sri Lanka - Maldives Bilateral Business Council has 117
registered members encompassing various product and service sectors.
The Council pavilion at the Hotel Asia 2012 will be used as the venue
for one-on-one business meetings in addition to showcasing promotional
material and samples of a wide array of products mission members wish to
promote in Maldives.
Along with organising business matchmaking sessions with the
Maldivian business community with the assistance of the Maldives
National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Sri Lanka High
Commission in Maldives, arrangements have been made to organise
networking sessions with the relevant Government Ministries/Departments
such as the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Maldives
Association of Construction Industry and the Invest Maldives.
This would be an opportunity for delegates to enter an upcoming
market through the Sri Lanka- Maldives Bilateral Business Council.

Hussain S. Hashim will be the Mission Leader whilst, Senior Assistant
Secretary General of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Ms. Lilakshini de
Mel will be co-ordinating the mission to the Maldives for the fourth
time since the inauguration of the Council in May 2007.
