MotorPlus Southern Monsoon Rally on Sept. 22 and 23

MONSOON RALLY: The Southern Motor Sports Club (SMSC) has announced that they have called entries for the MotorPlus Southern Monsoon Rally 2012, from September 6 and the entries will be accepted till September 14. The annual only Time-Speed and Distance (TSD) rally of the country will stage its 14th edition on September 22 and 23 as a day and night competition in three stages spanning over nearly 600 kms from Matara, Udawalawa, Hambantota via Tangalle.

The competition focuses skilled and precision driving on public roads and will conduct in five main categories, namely Non Rally Prepared Standard Vehicles (Group NRP), Rally Prepared Modified Vehicles (Group RP), Veterans (Group ‘V’), Novices (Group ‘N’) - which is only open for members of Southern Motor Sports Club and Young Southern Motor Sports Club, Rally Prepared/Non Rally Prepared Trucks and Jeeps (Group T) and Team Event.

Sri Lanka Insurance is sponsoring the rally for the third consecutive year while Sri Lanka Telecom-Mobitel and Ranna 212 support the event as co-sponsors for the first time.
