Bee-keeping encouraged in NWP

Ministry of Agriculture of the NWP-PC has taken measures to intensify its program to collect bee's-honey in both Kurunegala and Puttalam districts this year.

2000 boxes of bee-colonies would be distributed among unemployed youths who are interested in bee-keeping. Mr. D. B. Herath, the Provincial Minister of Agriculture - NWP told Sunday Observer that 1500 senior school children who study agriculture too would be educated on bee-keeping and they would be provided with required equipment and expertise to commence bee-keeping as a source of self-employment while studying bee-keeping practically as a subject.
