Electricity for Dimbulawala

The Power and Energy Ministry has launched an electricity supply
scheme in Dimbulawala, Kahawatta at a cost of Rs. 11 million. Once the
project is completed, over 250 families in the area will benefit. The
project has been implemented on a request by a villager during Power and
Energy Deputy Minister Premalal Jayasekera's recent visit to Kahawatta
to inquire into the untoward incidents of late.
This project has been implemented by the Widulamu Lanka Ratnapura
office and CEB Deputy General Manager's office, Ratnapura with financial
assistance from the Iranian Government. The project is expected to be
completed within a few days.
Addressing the gathering after launching the construction work of the
Dimbulawala electricity project, Deputy Minister Jayasekera said that
the people are the treasure of a country. It is the bounden duty of a
government to look after their welfare and developing facilities for
them.
