Opera Software introduced

Sri Lanka is a huge market with potential for Opera Mini said Opera Software, South Asia Region, Vice President Sunil Kamath at the launch of Opera Mini recently.

He said that Opera Software was happy to be in Sri Lanka, which is a competitive market. "We are keen to invest in Sri Lanka to expand our operations and be a leading mobile web browser in the country. Opera Mini made by Opera Software, makers of mobile browsers is used by over 275 million people worldwide", he said.

Kamath said that a large number of mobile phone operators and manufacturers have integrated Opera Mini into their offerings to give customers a better way to browse the web. It is cost-effective and reduces data delivered to any handset by up to 90 percent.

"Opera Software will enter into agreements with leading telecommunication operators in Sri Lanka.

Over the past 10 years Opera Mini users in Sri Lanka have increased by over 36 percent. Several phone brands run on Opera Mini in Sri Lanka" he said. Opera Software, a Norwegian company was founded in 1994.
