Radampola vested with people at 12 to 12 on 12-12-12

The village of Radampola which was modernised at a cost of
approximately 70 million Rupees was entrusted to the people of Urugamuwa
at the unique time of 12 minutes to 12 midnight on 12/12/12 by Member of
Parliament Namal Rajapaksa the eldest son of the President.
"This ceremony will go down in history as the shortest State ceremony
held in Sri Lanka. It was only 12 minutes in duration and sans any
speeches", said Minister for Youth Affairs and Skills Development Dullas
Alahapperuma who's dream of modernising the village where he was born
and bred without harming its heritage and culture became a reality
today.
The unveiling of the stone inscribed with the name of the town in all
three languages took place at 11.48 pm followed by switching on the
street lights in the model town, unveiling the street signboard of 'Sri
Sumangala Naahimi Mawatha and culminated with the unveiling of the town
clock tower at 12 midnight.
