JICA A.A. Bodhi Pooja

The JICA Alumni Association of Sri Lanka will perform a Bodhi Pooja and Pirith chanting at the Gangaramaya Temple, Colombo 2 on December 22 commencing 5.30 p.m. to invoke blessings on His Majesty Akihito Emperor of Japan, on his 79th birthday, under the patronage of the Ambassador of Japan, Nobuhito Hobo and Mrs. Tomomi Hobo.

The religious ceremony is also dedicated to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Japan.

Annual get-together of St. Patrick's alumni

The annual Christmas get-together and dinner of the Alumni Association, Colombo branch St. Patrick's College, Jaffna will be held on December 22 at Concord Grand Hotel, Dehiwala commencing 6.30 p.m.

Blood donation campaign at Moronthuduwa

The Moronthuduwa Youth Society will conduct a blood donation campaign for the 10th consecutive year today from 8.30 p.m. at No. 254/2A, Moronthuduwa Tharuna Seva Mawatha. Nilanka Nayanajith Perera is the pioneer behind the meritorious act, which collects around 300 pints.

'A Green Christmas' at St. Benedict's College

St. Benedict's College will hold its annual carols titled 'A Green Christmas' on December 21, at St. Lucia's Cathedral, Kotahena.

The service will comprise secular as well as seasonal carols and music. The entrance procession will be at 6.45 p.m. The program will be presented by the College Choir, Primary Choir and Western Band of St. Benedict's College with a guest performance by Choro Benedicte.

Ran Salu on Dec 18

Ran Salu, the Handloom Fashion Show, organised by the Department of Textile Industry, under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce will be held on December 18 from 7.00 pm at the Hall D of the BMICH, Colombo.

First Lady, Madam Shiranthi Rajapaksa will be the chief guest.

The presentation of the show is coordinated by Premasiri Hewawasam with Clifford Richard and Indunil Dissanayake as comperes.

25th anniversary of Nalanda '87 Group

A celebration to mark the 25th anniversary passing-out of Nalanda '87 Group will be held today, at the Wadduwa Army Resort from 9.00 am.

Arts Faculty get-together

The annual get-together of the 1994-95 and 1995-96 batches of the Arts Faculty of the Sri Jayewardenepura University will be held at Rock House Hotel, Piliyandala on December 23 at 9.00 a.m.
