Test paceman Lakmal, Kaushal and Sachithra impress

Tamil Union fast bowler and Sri Lanka Test paceman Suranga Lakmal
impressed with superb bowling figures as he picked up a five wicket haul
against Moors SC in their premier league limited over tournament match
played at P Sara Oval yesterday.
Lakmal, who had been Sri Lanka's regular Test fast bowler before he
was sidelined due to an injury, excelled in the previous match against
Kurunegala YSC capturing three wickets. Moors sent into bat, scored 211
runs with two half centuries by P Gunaratne (67) and D Dilhara (59).
Gunaratne's fine innings was studded with three sixes and four fours.
Tamil Union reached the target in 44 overs with the help of a record
150-run partnership for the fourth wicket between unbeaten batsmen,
former Mahindian Rumesh Buddhika (70) and Sachithra Serasinghe (68).
Moors: 211 in 45 overs (P Gunaratne 67, D Dilhara 59, Suranga Lakmal
5/42, M Ekanayake 3/26). Tamil Union: 215/3 in 44 overs (Rumesh Buddhika

Kaushal (5/27) wrecks SLPACC
NCC's spinner Tharindu Kaushal who was in the Sri Lanka Test squad
against New Zealand, wrecked Sri Lanka Ports Authorty Cricket Club as he
took a five wicket haul to beat SLPACC by 57 runs on the Duckworth Lewis
method in their match played at Moors ground yesterday. The right-arm
off spinner, who has got a vicious doosra in his armoury had picked up
four wickets in the previous match against Badureliya SC.
SLPACC batting first, were bowled out for 196 before the spin duo
Tharindu Kaushal and Sohan Boralessa (3/34).

Sachithra excels
Sachithra Senanayake captured five wickets for 29 runs in 10 overs
and helped SSC to beat Navy SC by 57 runs in their match played at the
SSC grounds yesterday.
Senanayake, who performed well in the One Day Internationals in the
last couple of years including his excellent performances in the last
Commonwealth Bank Series in Australia, had three wickets in his previous
match against Ragama CC.
SSC batting first, were bowled out for 197. Wicket-keeper batsman
Kaushal Silva scored 57 runs. Navy were reeling against some acurate
spin bowling by SSC spearheaded by Senanayake. For the sailors, opener D
Gurusinghe hammered 46 runs with one six and seven fours.

Colts middle order batsman Kusal Janith Perera's sparkling innings
helped them to beat Panadura SC by 73 runs in their premier league match
played at Panadura yesterday.
Perera batted brilliantly his blistering innings, which was studded
with 19 fours and two huge sixes and Colts had the edge over Panadura as
they defeated Panadura on the Duckworth Lewis method. Chasing a daunting
target, Panadura SC's Chamara Silva smashed 38-ball half century with
five fours and two sixes. Colts: 323/7 (Kusal Janith Perera 155, Shehan
Fernando 44, S de Silva 3/63).
Panadura SC: 155/6 in 29 overs (Chamara Silva 50, G Wijesinghe 38,

Nimesh Perera stuns Chilaw
Burgher Recreation Club beat Chilaw Marians by four wickets as they
reached the Chilaw Marians' target of 249 in 47.2 overs. Nimesh Perera
jnr hammered a stunning 59 runs in just 26 deliveries with amazing eight
sixes.
BRC put up a good opening stand with the help of opener former
Josephian Hashan Gunatilleke (unbeaten 84) and his partner Andy
Solomons, who smashed a 61-ball 73 runs with five sixes and six fours.
