No Christmas if not for Jesus...
The most hallowed day in the Christian calendar will dawn at the
strike of midnight tomorrow. The birth of Jesus will be celebrated
throughout the world by the rich and poor alike. But will it be
celebrated in the right spirit ,with the spiritual significance of the
event highlighted ? It is hard to say since the significance of Jesus
and His birth has been lost in all the commercial hype built around
Christmas.

Most of you must be familiar with the Nativity, the birth of Baby
Jesus and the events surrounding it by now. However, as children you may
be naturally inclined to make the most of the fun and frolic that comes
along with the festive season, paying little or no attention to the
spiritual message of Christmas, and none can blame you. Who can really
resist the carnival-like atmosphere that envelopes not only just the
Christian homes but also other places too, with beautiful decorations,
coloured jets , the aroma of delicious mouth watering food and melodious
seasonal tunes filling the air? Not children definitely! And then what
about all the gifts that are given by family, friends and Santa as well.
Caught up in all this hype , going to church to honour Baby Jesus and
reflecting on His massage may prove difficult for many.
But, remember there would not have been a Christmas Day for you to
enjoy ,if not for Jesus. It is therefore important that you celebrate
Christmas in its true spirit; by spreading the message of love and peace
through your acts of sharing and caring .
The Prince of Peace was born on this day to bring peace on Earth and
love to all mankind, and we must not forget this significant fact. So,
as the story of the Nativity unfolds before you with the dawn of
Christmas on December 24, embrace its message and let it seep into your
very nature... Enrich yourself with the most precious gifts anyone could
have this Christmas - the spiritual gifts of love ,peace and harmony so
that you can distribute them generously among everyone, irrespective of
cast, creed or religion. Celebrate Christmas with a song of peace and a
heart full of love.
Have a truly blessed Christmas, everyone!
