'Oracle helps streamline business'

The applications strategy offered by Oracle for business streamlining has been well accepted by local consumers. Oracle is the only vendor with open standards engineered to eliminate IT complexity to fuel innovation, Oracle Applications Director and head, Chandita Samaranayake said.

The integrated stack of software, middleware and hardware provide complete solutions and choice for the consumer as the complete product strategy is used to streamline business processes, he said. Oracle offers choice of deployment where the touch point of integration is at the top management level.

"The company offer is not limited to a single business transaction, but is a continuous journey. The application, middleware, data base, operating system, virtual machine, servers and storage forms the total package to the customer.

The solutions they offer are suitable for businesses such as finance, human capital, supply chain and portfolio management.

Oracle commenced operations in Sri Lanka in 1991 through a local partner and an Oracle liaison office was set up in Colombo in 2004. It has 150 to 200 customers and has a strong presence in related companies in the telecommunication, banking, finance and insurance industries.
