Infoserve expands local portfolio
Infoserve introduced its travel itinerary service, athandz, to the
market, following the launch of its Customised News Alerts service for
corporates last year.
"The tourist industry's target of attracting 2.5 million tourists by
2016 offers much potential for growth. These factors have encouraged us
to introduce our travel itinerary services to the local industry," said
Head of Operations, Infoserve (Pvt) Ltd, Erandi Narangoda.
"Our travel itinerary is distinct in spanning several aspects: 'what
to do on your holiday', 'where to stay' and 'places to see and options
for children'. It greatly helps anyone to decide on how to spend their
entire vacation within their budget," she said.
Meanwhile, athandz has seen another need arising for Customised News
Alerts which can be targeted to individuals across all corporates.
The company aims at analysing local and foreign news sources, which
are in the customer's areas of interest, providing highlights from
related articles and stories in an easy-to-read format. "Through sales
partnerships with Zellor AB and Innovation Nation in Sweden, athandz has
gained acceptability for its services in the European markets.
The company has also generated several new leads through its
participation at last year's Internet Discovery Day event in Stockholm.
We now intend to focus on the Sri Lankan market," a spokesman for the
company said.
Erandi said, "Our services have traditionally been more popular in
European markets. We would now like to set up ourselves as a strong
player in the local market. As part of this strategy, we have enrolled
ourselves as a member of SLASSCOM and are increasing our level of
involvement with the local ICT/KPO/BPO industry."
