Appointed Chief Sanghanayake of Western Province

Ven. Muruttettuwe Ananda Thera of Sri Abeyarama Purna Vihara, Narahenpita has been appointed Chief Sanghanayake of the Western Province, by Sri Kalyani Saamagri Dhamma Sangha Sabha.

Born in 1943, he was ordained in 1958 at the Kotte Raja Maha Vihara. A dedicated social and religious worker, the Ven. Thera had set up the Public Service United Nurses Association in 1969 and since then the Association is functioning under his patronage.
