Rahula Road Race

Over 250 boys and girls under the age of 20 will participate in the
fifth Road Race organised by Sri Rahula College, Katugastota which will
be worked off at Katugastota on Tuesday January 29 commencing at 8 a.m.
The route of the race will be from Katugastota to Kudugala through
the backwoods of Katugastota and Ambatenna with the finish at Sri Rahula
College grounds. According to the organisers the distance of the road
for boys will be 10 kilometres and for girls 5 kilometres. The star
attraction of this road race will be Tilina Kumari who won the long
distance race at the schools championship in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and
also excelled at the Junior Asian Games. In addition to this there will
be other top runners from schools in Kandy.
Annual football encounter
 The annual football encounter between the over 40's and under-40
years of age between Zahira College, Colombo and Zahira College Gampola
was played at the Zahira College ground, Gampola recently. Zahira
Colombo won both matches. In the picture the Prime Minister's Private
Secretary, Anuradha Jayaratne, Attorney-at-Law who was the chief guest
being introduced to the teams prior to the commencement of the match.
Sirimavo's Inter-house sports meet
 The house captain of 'Mayura' House Kavidi Ishadika receiving the
champions trophy from Principal Dammika C. Jayanetty at the Sirimavo
Bandaranaike BV Inter-house sports meet held recently. Also in the
picture is member of the National Education Commission, Pushpa
Kalubowila. Mayura House obtained 461 points to become the champions

Ladies' College Old Girl's Sports Meet on February 16
The sports meet of the Ladies' College Old Girls Association will be
held on Saturday, February 16 at the school grounds at 2 pm. All ages
will be accommodated. The event is coordinated by the House captains and
