Musaeus College Junior Sports Awards Day

Musaeus College held its Junior Sports Awards Day last month. Adorning our cover are junior sportswomen of the school. The chief guest at the event was the president of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board Ana Punchihewa when we won the Cricket World Cup in1996. Mrs S. Thennakoon is the Primary headmistress.

Musaeus College was founded in 1891. Mrs. Marie Musaeus Higgins was the founder Principal, and Peter de Abrew, the first Manager.

Established in 1891 with very meagre resources in a humble, mud-walled, lowly thatched hut with one teacher and 12 pupils, the school has progressively grown in size and reputation over the years. Today, Musaeus College has evolved into one of the country's most dynamic, progressive and forward-thinking academic institutions, achieving the distinction of being the premier Buddhist Girls' College in Sri Lanka.
