Be honourable, CJ tells law students

Grow with the "Hulftsdorp culture", said Chief Justice Mohan Peiris
PC. He said the legal profession shares in the development of the
country. He was addressing the Sri Lanka Law College, award ceremony on
Friday at the Law College auditorium.
"Be honourable, that is the key to your success, the Chief Justice
told the law students and added that there was a lacuna of knowledge in
meeting contemporary challenges.
The nation is on a course towards rapid development. The Bar
Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) was doing its best with the resources
available. The Chief Justice called upon the law students to understand
the needs of the community and serve them.
Law College Principal, Dr. W.D. Rodrigo said it was a great honour
and privilege to welcome the Chief Justice who is also the Chairman of
the Council of Legal Education as the Chief Guest.
Chief Justice Mohan Peiris had always followed the progress of the
College with a keen interest and had been always supportive of the
College activities and was committed to the legal profession and
education, the principal said.
The Law College Principal said that while improving the facilities in
the College, the Council of Legal Education is now focusing on improving
the academic standards of the College.
