Premier League Tournament:

Despite Jeewantha’s heroics: SSC fight-back

Despite Badureliya’s Saliya Saman Jeewantha’s stunning performance (8/53) with a hat-trick, SSC are in the driving seat needing 180 runs more with 10 wickets in hand against Badureliya SC in their Premier League match played at the SSC yesterday.

Chasing 286 runs to win, SSC are 61 for no loss at stumps, with Test openers Dimuth Karunaratne on 26 and Tharanga Paranavithana on 33 not out at the crease.

SSC were bowled out for 102 in their first innings due to the Jeewantha’s wreckage on the first day. Badureliya were also got out for pathetic 119 runs and SSC were set 286 target.

Badureliya SC: 227 in 68.3 overs (Pabasara Waduge 59, Mapa Bandara 50, Roshan Illeperuma 29, Ruvindu Shamen 23, Kasun Madusanka 4/39, Sachithra Senanayake 3/72, Charith Jayampathi 2/40) and 119 in 39.4 overs (Nilushan Nonis 30, Pabasara Waduge 27, Dhammika Prasad 4/20, Charith Jayampathi 2/18, Bhanuka Rajapakse 2/22).

Colts Cricket Club defeated Lankan CC by 10 wickets within two days in their match played at Colts grounds yesterday.
