Royal College, Panadura beat formidable and more fancied Ananda
College, Colombo on first innings by 61 runs in their inter-school
Under-19 tournament cricket match worked off at Panadura Esplanade.
Anandians taking the first lease were all out for 170 runs with
Asitha Dananjaya claiming 4 for 28 runs.
In reply Panadura Royalists declared at 231 for 9 with half centuries
from Madava Nimesh 54 and Duleepth Gayan 62. Thamalka Athulathmudali and
Shammu Ashan were the chief wicket takers for the visitors with 4 for 85
and 4 for 42 respectively.
In their second essay Anandians bounced back and at the close they
were 216 for 6 with Thamalka Athulathmudali 73 and Pasindu Isira 64.
Thenuka Dananajaya took 5 for 61 for the homesters.
