Dinuk props up Trinity

Trinity College, Skipper Dinuk Wikramanayaka scored a steady 53 with 3 fours and a six facing 118 balls to help his side to score 206 all out in the first day of their inter-school cricket match against St. Servatius College, Matara which began at the Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy yesterday. The match will be continued today at 10 am.

Around 3 hours of play was lost due to rain and bad light. Dinuk Wikramanayake during the course of his innings passed 500 runs for the season and only the second batsman from the hill capital. He has now scored 533 runs which includes a century and 6 fifties. It was Dinuk Wikramanayake's innings which shared up Trinity's innings after they were 100 for 6 at one stage.

Trinity College 206 all out in 69.1 overs (Lakshitha Dassanayake 14, Bhaghya Pallihawadana 34, Dinuk Wikramanayake 53, S. Sanogeeth 22, Charith Sudaraka 29, Madushan Subendran 10, Ashan Deemantha 4 for 49, Sanko Ridma 2 for 74, Chalana Anjana 2 for 22)

St. Servatius College 6 for no loss in 3 overs.
