school fixtures till March 7. School authorities representing St

the offer made by the Matara District Cricket Association (MDCA) to
provide either the Mahinda Rajapaksha International Cricket Ground
(MRICG) in Sooriyawewa or the Surrey Cricket Ground in Maggona together
with transportation and accommodation for the scheduled school fixtures
at a meeting convened by Matara Mayor Sosindra Handunge recently. Sri
Lanka Cricket (SLC) and the MDCA have commenced preparing the ground to
host the touring Bangladesh Cricket team for a three day warm up game
which would commence on the March 4.
Mayor Sosindra Handunge emphasized that it was only school cricket
fixtures that would be affected due to the closure of the square at
Uyanwatta and that all other sports events will take place as scheduled.
