The Mulatiyana-Pallewela Temple Road
constructed at a cost of Rs. 8 million under the Ministry of
Ports and Highways was vested with the people recently by
Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne. The road meets the transport
needs of residents in Kithsiripura, Watadola, Pallewela,
Pitawalgamuwa and Radawela. Chief Incumbent of the Pallewela

Rajapaksa opened the Water World’s underwater tunnel at
Biyagama, Kelaniya, recently, the first of its kind in South
Asia. The project built at a cost of Rs. 600 million will be
a major tourist attraction. Deputy Economic Development

Sri Lanka Vocational Training Authority
launched its first School Vocational Trianing Centre at
Ananda College, Colombo under the patronage of Youth Affairs
and Skills Development Minister, Dullas Alahapperuma and
Eduction Minister Bandula Gunawardena. It has been decided
to set up at least one such centre for each district. Here

Chariman Col. Dharshana Ratnayake sign an MoU on the new

With the prevailing bright weather after
a heavy and continuous downpour, Nuwara Eliya, the country’s
National Holiday Resort has attracted a large crowd of
holiday makers and the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club was the centre
of attraction. In addition the Gregory’s Lake Round has
attracted holiday crowds for the newly introduced House

The 5,000 land entitlements deeds
ceremony under the “Bimsaviya Program” in the Nuwara Eliya
DS area was held recently at the Meepilimane Community Hall,
under the patronage of Minister of Public Management Reforms
Navin Dissanayaka. Here the Minister presents a deed to a
beneficiary. Deputy Director of Lands of the Central
Province, Tennakoon Bandara was also present.
