The exchanges were almost even in the drawn school cricket encounter
between Royal and Trinity at Reid Avenue yesterday.
Royal who were 61 for 2 overnight in reply to Trinity's 217 took a
first innings lead of 33 runs mainly due to an unbeaten 55 on debut by
17-year-old Randev Pathirana and another fine knock of 45 by Hashen
Ramanayake.
Trinity were 45 for 2 when play was called off around 4.00 pm after
16 overs as Trinity had to leave for Kandy early.
Trinity: 217 in 66.1 overs (Raveen Sayer 47 n.o., Lakshan Jayasinghe
42, Dinuk Wickremanayake 28, Baghya Palihawadana 24, Poorna Aluthge 6
for 65, Hashen Ramanayake 3 for 22) and 45 for 2 in 16 overs at close
(Ron Chandragupta 28 n.o.).
