Northern Province girls keen on learning cricket fast

Northern Province has formed a women's cricket team and they have the
expert coaching of former Test Cricketer Ravindra Pushpakumara and he
will be assisted by R. Jayakumar. This has been organised by Sri Lanka
Cricket.

Although they lost the first match against Central Province they
showed plenty of skill. This match was played at the Police Grounds
recently. The girls from Northern Province are keen in learning the game
fast. Central Province Women: 155 for 4 wickets in 20 overs (Harshani
Wijeratne 40 Madushika Mettananda 23, Mallika Devi 23 not out, Dilusha
Hindagoda 15, Thakshila Jayaratne 14, R. Thanuja 2 for 28 S.A. Bahiravi
1 for 20, R. Samsa 1 for 43).Northern Province Women: 77 for 9 wkts in
20 overs (G.M. Risita 24, N. Sukurtha 19, (Harshani Wijeratne 2 for 9,
Dilhani Siriwardena 1 for 10, D.Thakshila 1 for 6, Madushika Mettananda
