BOI hosts Johns Hopkins University delegation
Deputy Minister of Investment Promotion Faiszer Mustapha, hosted a
delegation of academic staff and students from Johns Hopkins University,
Washington DC at the Head Office of the Board of Investment of Sri
Lanka.
Minister Mustapha briefed the visitors on Sri Lanka's improved
economic and investment climate and other developments that have taken
place since the return of peace to the country.
He said the Government has taken measures to improve the country's
infrastructure such as highways, ports and airports.
He outlined the significant investments in the North and the East.
Minister Mustapha spoke of the need for economic empowerment to solve
political problems.
The students were interested in Sri Lanka's role in the region,
taking into account the growth of India and China. They were also
interested in the recovery of the country since 2009.
