Junior School Prefects' investiture
The Buddhist Primary Vidyalaya, Andiambalama held its prefects'
investiture ceremony recently. This school caters to children from
around the area and has classes upto Grade five. The school was set up
under the auspices of the Buddhist Theosophical Foundation in 1912 and
continues to function as a primary school. R.P. Gamini Rajapaksa is the
principal while a staff of twelve are involved in teaching and
inculcating correct values in students.
This school is one of the first schools to ensure that children have
a balanced morning meal. the meal is prepared in the school itself with
funds provided by the state.
