Manawasinghe birth centenary on June 21

A commemorative meeting to mark the birth centenary of Sri Chandrarathna Manawasinghe who rendered a great service to the nation as a poet, lyricist, writer, journalist, columnist and an orator will be held at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute Auditorium, Colombo 7 on June 21 at 4 p.m.

The commemorative meeting will be presided over by Ven. Prof. Bellanwila Wimalarathana Thera, Chancellor, Sri Jayewardenepura University.

Ven. Maduluwawe Sobhitha Thera, chief incumbent of Naga Vihara, Kotte, Prof. J. B. Disanayaka, Prof. Sunil Ariyarathna and Prof. Praneeth Abeysundara will deliver speeches on various aspects of the poet's life.
