A German delegation led by Deputy
Speaker of the German Parliament Dr. Wolfgang Thierse called
on Sri Lanka’s Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkody at his
office recently. Their discussions centred on strengthening
the friendship and goodwill between the parliaments of the
two countries. The German Deputy Speaker said the German
Government would extend its fullest support to all
development activities carried out in Sri Lanka.
During the Sinhala and Tamil New
Year, religious observances were held in many temples
and kovils invoking blessings on the people. Religious
observances were held at the Muththumari Amman Kovil in
Muloya Estate, Hewaheta in Kandy under the auspices of
President's Parliamentary Affairs Secretary, Kumarasiri
Hettige. Here he is exchanging
