Manoj takes 7/27

A fine bowling spell of 7 for 27 by Manoj Deshapriya enabled Moratuwa Sports Club to gain a first innings win over Singha Sports Club, Ambalangoda at the end of day one in their inter-club division one Sara Trophy cricket match worked off at Tyronne Fernando stadium, Moratuwa.

Homesters batting first were all out for 152 runs with Dinesh Senevirathne making the top score of 55 runs while Yohan de Silva had a good spell of 7 for 52.

Singha in their turn shot out for a paltry 81 runs and at the end Moratuwites were 139 for 3 with old Vidyalian Chatura Hemakumara unbeaten on 67 runs.

MSC: 152 (Chamesh Fernando 26, Hasitha Lasika 32, Dinesh Senevirathne 55, Yohan de Silva 7/52, Nimanda Madushanka 2/26 and 139/3 - Anushka Perera 26, Chamesh Fernando 21, Chatura Hemakumara 67 n.o., Yohan de Silva 2/35).

Singha SC: 81 (Sithara Gimhan 28, Manoj Deshapriya 7/27, Hashan Fernando 3/50).
