Future stars from Kandy U 14 cricket champs in Malaysia

The Future Stars Cricket Club, Kandy fared well in the under 14 and
under 17 T20 International Cricket Tournaments held in Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia from April 9 to 11.
Teams from Sri Lanka, Australia, India, Malaysia and Singapore
participated. Six teams in each age group entered for the championship
and Future Stars Cricket Club, Kandy emerged champions beating Buku
Jalil Sports School Malaysia in the under 14 final. The under 17 team of
Future Stars became third after Melbourne Cricket Team of Australia and
Malaysia National Team.
The Future Stars team is coached by former Dharmaraja skipper and
Level 2 coach Senaka Dissanayake.
This tournament was held for the third year and organised by Sports
Network Solutions for Solanger Cricket Association.
The following cricketers received special awards:
Under 14 – Dulaj Bandara -The best player of the tournament award.
Minidu Tharindu – Man of the Match in the first round match.
Under 17 – Niwantha Herath - Best all rounder of the tournament.
Deshan Gunasinghe – Man of the match in the third placed match.
Primesha Pathirana – Man of the match in the first round match.
