The interactive session focused on export opportunities and challenges in the Korean market for Sri Lankan exporters.

He that Sri Lanka will achieve a higher growth in the next few years with the commencement of Korean Air direct flights.

The direct flights will increase exports to Korea. Sri Lanka's tourism sector has also recorded a positive growth of Korean tourists visiting Sri Lanka in 2012/2013. The number of Korean tourists arriving in Sri Lanka increased by over 16% compared to 2012.

"This is a positive sign that Korean travellers have now included Sri Lanka in their travel itineraries and we anticipate a further increase in tourist arrivals from Korea during 2013 due to new flights by Korean Air," said the Ambassador.

The Sri Lanka-Korea Economic Cooperation Committee also launched their new website www.srilankakoreabiz.com that evening.
