Mackwoods Energy installs power plant
Mackwoods Energy PLC recently installed and commissioned, on a
turnkey basis, a power plant and control system at the Laya Safari
Boutique Hotel, Yala.
"The 0.5 MW thermal power plant coupled to an automatic
synchronisation system has been designed for parallel running of the
generators based on load," a spokesman for the company said.
"While saving on capital cost on investment in large capacity
generators, by parallel interfacing generators, Laya Safari would reduce
their operational and maintenance costs as the Power Drive Automatic
Synchronisation System (PASS) will ensure that power is delivered as per
the required load. This would help reduce their cost of energy
consumption and fuel," he said.
"The sound has been substantially reduced through a sound attenuator
design thus reducing noise pollution in keeping with environmental
norms. The plant will automatically start when there is a grid power
outage and will supply power to the hotel in less than five seconds
while the synchronisation panel automatically controls the load sharing
between the two generators when in parallel operation," he said.
