Inter-monsoonal weather to continue

The prevailing inter-monsoon weather will continue for the next three weeks till the commencement of the North East Monsoon.

The rainy weather will continue for a week and may sometimes extend to a few more days, Meteorologist Channa Rodrigo told the Sunday Observer yesterday.

Showers or thunder showers will develop in several places over most provinces during the afternoon or evening. Heavy rain is expected in some areas.The Western Province, Galle and Matara districts will experience thunder showers during the morning hours.

There may be temporary, localised, fairly strong winds during thunder showers, he said.The public is warned to take precautionary measures to minimise damage caused by lightning, he said.There will be showers or thunder showers at times in the seas off the coast from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
