A field officer attached to the Land Reforms Commission was nabbed by
the Bribery Commission whilst soliciting a bribe of Rs. 8,000 from a
land owner in Morawaka yesterday.
The suspect had demanded a sum of Rs. 10,000 from the land owner who
had sought a permit to obtain electricity connection to his land.
However the former had agreed to issue the permit for Rs. 8,000 later
on.
