‘2007 Rahula Super Friends’ – the champs

Team ‘ 2007 Rahula Super Friends’ walked away with the trophy and Rs 25,000 in cash at the Rahula Super Six Cricket Fiesta held at the Sanath Jayasuriya grounds Matara on Saturday (27th April). Team ‘2002 Rahula Max’ were the runners-up and received Rs 15,000 in cash.

Nishan Senaka was named the Man of the Final as well as the Best Batsman while Hasitha Gunathilaka was named the Best Bowler.

16 teams of Old Rahulian’s vied for the Rahula Sixes at this year’s fiesta which was organised the Old Rahulian’s batch of 2000.There was fun and frolick throughout the day with papare bands, cheer leaders, dancers, food stalls and many trade stalls which were well patronized by the many old boys, their families and friends who gathered at the Jayasuriya grounds.

The highlight of the evening was an exhibition cricket match between the organizers ‘ The batch of 2000” and a team of film and television stars led by Suraj Mapa. The stars won the game with much encouragement from the spectators.
