CILT's Global Convention in June 2013
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) a global
professional body associated with the logistics and transport industry
will hold the global convention and AGM from June 2-7 in Colombo.
"CILT set up in UK in 1919, received the Royal Charter in 1926. It
stays consistent with current logistics and transport issues. The
Institute promotes and encourages the art and science of logistics and
transport through its membership and its educational programs," a
spokesman for the institute said.
With a global membership of over 33,000 working in over 100
countries, CILT provides a professional identity to those working in the
expanding logistics and transport sector. It is a professional
association that speaks with authority on strategic issues affecting
businesses and people in the industry and supports their careers.
The CILT Annual Convention and Conference, generally alternated
between the UK and a different territory or branch each year.
"It is recognised worldwide as the show-case event of the CILT
international calendar," he said.
The Annual International Conference hosted by CILT Sri Lanka, in
collaboration with the CILT Convention, will be held on June 5, at the
Kingsbury, on the theme 'Future of Logistics and Transport from a Global
Perspective.' |
