Pudukuduyirippu Divisional Hospital and Divisional Secretariat to be opened

The newly constructed Pudukuduyirippu Divisional Hospital will be opened to the public by Economic Development Minister, Basil Rajapaksa on Tuesday (28). Minister Rajapaksa will be the chief guest at the special event that will be held in the Pudukuduyirippu township.

The new hospital is built on the same land as the old hospital and according to Provincial Director of Health, Dr. S.R. Jude around 38,000 people will benefit with the reopening of the hospital.

"The Out Patients Department is built at a cost of Rs. 26 million. The new hospital also includes staff quarters which can accommodate Medical Officers, nurses and midwives," Dr. Jude said. The Staff quarters were built at a cost of Rs. 10 million.

The new plan of the hospital consists of an Out Patients Department, Administration building, Emergency Treatment Unit, Dispensary and laboratories.
