RED FM to host Bradby on June 1
The latest radio station, RED FM will broadcast the first leg of the
Bradby Shield.
With the backing of a host of past Trinity batches and the support of
sponsors, the event is guaranteed to be a roaring success.
Le Garage at Amaya Hills will host 'The Red Line Out' on June 1 from
9 pm onwards.
HelpAge Vesak Bakthi Gee at Borupana on May 28
HelpAge Sri Lanka (HASL) will conduct a Vesak Bakthi Gee program at
H.P. Gooneratne HelpAge Elders' Day Centre at Sri Dharmarama Mawatha,
Borupana, Ratmalana on 28 at 2.00 pm.
The objective of conducting the Bakthi Gee (Devotional songs) program
is to encourage elders over 60 years to take part in religious
activities and also to enjoy by taking part in such events. At least 30
men and women elders will sing at the program.
HASL also conducts various other welfare programs including cataract
surgeries free to uplift the living conditions of senior citizens in the
country. The surgeries will minimise the burden of their family members.
Executive Director, Samantha Liyanawaduge said about 25 percent of
elders suffer from blindness due to cataract and this prompted the HASL
to perform 15 cataract surgeries on a daily basis on week days to needy
senior citizens free at the HASL, Eye Care Centre, Wellawatte.
