The competition for the Platinum and Gold Segments for schools
playing in Division I and two is bound to be an intense one as the
deficit between the first two candidates in the Platinum Contest Royal's
Milan Abeysekera (60,002) and Thurstan's Minhaj Jaleel (59,879) is just
123 votes and in the 'Gold ' St. John's, Nugegoda's Yamal Siriwardena
(46,309) at top is holding a 92 vote majority over Sri Devananda's
Sakunda de Silva who polled (46,217) at the end of the 18th week's count
in the Sunday Observer/Mobitel Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the
Year 2013 contest.In the Silver category for Division III schools, Sri
Rahula College, Katugastota's Ishara Hewage (41,319) took the lead from
Trishan Rodrigo of Loyala College, Negombo who had polled in 40,998
votes.
